Augusta Maine

We arrived into August and we decided that we would try a different camp ground. We had been staying in KOA camp grounds and I should say, they are awesome campgrounds. Well, this one was called Beaverhead campgrounds. We had a camp site close to the lake and here we could rent boats and kayaks to explore the lake. We set up our camp site and it was a pretty cool site! The only not so good thing about this camp ground was that there were some "permenate" residents that lived there during the summer months. It really was something out of "if you are a redneck...... " book!

I'm sure they were nice people but it was just kind of odd! anyway, enjoy our pictures. We really had some bonding moments as a family.

One imparticular was when we went out on the boat. Justin was our designated driver and the rest of us enjoyed the water by getting in. Now let me set the picutre for you:

small john boat with motor
water 60 degrees or colder
windy
cloudy
lots of wild life: eagles, fish, other people

so out we go on our family adventure. Dwayne gets in the water and then Kayla, Josh is holding out for a better sight and I'm holding the camera.
They had fun playing in the water but it was time to get out of the chilly water. Dwayne attempts but can't seem to get his lower body out of the water. The laughter begins, Josh is panicing over the weight distrabution , I'm laughing and filming trying to encourage him to keep trying. Kayla is in the water, laughing so hard she drinks half the lake, and Justin is saying, Dad do you think it is time for you to loose some of that weight you've wanted to loose.
Finally after a few attempts we decide to help him out and he does make it into the boat.

Now some of you might be thinking, how did melissa weather when it came to getting out? Ha! That's why I'm writing this blog! What you don't know won't hurt you!

:)

Enjoy!
