As many of you know it will be Feb. 21st very soon and in preparation for Kayla's sweet 16th birthday we had planned a Surprise Birthday Celebration with friends by the pool, pizza and a birthday cake. Well, on saturday of last week Kayla mentioned the not so surprise birthday bash and asked us not to give her one.
INSTEAD she asked, with a HUGE grin and looking directly at her DAD, if we would take her to a concert in Bangkok.
Dwayne was a bit taken back and asked more questions.
Dwayne asked, "What kind of band is it?" Kayla said, "A good one".
Dwayne asked, "when is it?" Kayla said, " the 18th" .
Dwayne asked, " who would you want to go? " Kayla said, "you Dad".
if that isn't a way to get to her fathers heart, I don't know what is!
But the sad news, Dwayne was going to be out of town until Sunday. So then of course she settled for me :) .
I was like no thanks- My ears can't handle a Rock concert. But as the week went on and she began listening to the band- I started warming up to the idea. Dwayne and I are all about giving the kids some life experiences and memories so why not go?
So, we are going and I'm taking 2 of their friends. Kayla invited her good friend Angela and Justin has to go because I'm going and so Angela has a brother and we were all like, we can't go and not ask Bryan to go. So now its a party of 5!
I started looking at the cost and how we would do this and so after talking with a travel agent we worked out a plan and it is going to be a pretty cheap trip considering there are 5 of us. The big cost is the actual concert which, all in all will cost 1/2 of the over all price of us to go.
So, we are heading out tomorrow night Friday our time to Bangkok, staying in a cool hotel and we will celebrate Kayla's birthday, Now here is the REALLY cool thing. Angie's birthday is the Feb. 24th! and she too will be Sweet Sixteen! :)
You all can pray for me :) I hope to have a good time and enjoy our kids to the fullest. I'll have pictures of this adventure for you all on Sunday!
Oh did I mention that the concert ends at midnight and we fly out the next morning at 7am, which means we will be up before 5 am to get to the airport.
I'm going to be one pooped mama~
