A snake in the grass....

Yes! it is now snake season.....

You know growing up we always had a few snakes in our yard and I remember as a kid yelling for my parents or the nearest dad to come and see. Usually, who ever came running came with a hoe in tow and ready to make the kill!

So, Dwayne called me outside to look at one of our porch plants and there beneath the red leaves I could see a very bright green body. As we searched for the head we realized it was looking right at us and was a bit closer than we realized. We decided we needed to ask one of our yard workers to come and see the snake. Immediately she began motioning, with hand jesters, to kill the snake. Well, I fully understood and immediately ran to get the shovel mean while Dwayne was going to get the broom stick. Well, yard lady was motioning to strike the snake and Dwayne being the gentle giant decided he would protect the snake.. Why you ask? His thinking was he didn't know if it was poisonous or not and so he didn't want to kill it. :)

So here is our first snake - we've decided we are going to catalog all the snakes we find in our yard.
