As many of you know Dwayne and I are hosting a conference in our city. It's been going so well but in the evenings I've been staying with Dwayne at the hotel because we are so far out of the city. But last night I just felt like I needed to come home and be with the kids so after spending some time with some of my friends I decided to head home. I arrived and sat on the sofa with Justin and we were talking as both of us were checking emails.
How it started? A Candle?
Yep..... so the ending?
Justin lost a lot of his possessions to one bad decision.
I only have a few pictures but let me just say that worst damage was just having soot all over everything - the walls are the worst. Not to mention the ceiling! Oh and did we mention the wood floors? There is a burned mark about the size of a Truck Tire... So we will be resurfacing the floor.
I have to say that in all situations there is something to be thankful for~
Here are just a few that we gave thanks for.....
We heard the fire before it was so out of control that we couldn't put it out ourselves
It was primarily contained to one side of the room
I was home just in time to hear the fire and to help the kids
only clothes and dresser was lost
cd's and a few books
I'm so amazed at the way God can use these situations to help us just keep our perspective on things. I had mentioned to Dwayne about going home to be with the kids on Monday but he talked me into staying one more night. I can't tell you how thankful I am that the Lord worked out the details for me to be home!
Father is so good about making the timing perfect even in these situations.
So, Even though we are a little weary of having "things" happen- we are ever so grateful for the blessings hidden in these difficult times.
Lord thank you~
