Justin's Arrival

Happy Birthday - September 16, 1988

I was just thinking a back to the day our Justin came into the world. I was in Alabama with my parents and I had just helped my mom clean the new home they had moved into. Actually we got down and dirty- cleaning the tiles in the kitchen. I remember my mom and I were laughing because my tummy was touching the floor as I was on all fours cleaning. I was definitely in that "nesting" mode and it was enough to throw me into labor. I had just gotten up to get a drink when my water broke. I remember my Dad getting ready to take me to the hospital and I decided I would take a shower before going to the hospital. What I didn't realize was that the Warm shower would cause my labor to get harder. Okay, so it probably wasn't the warm water :) but rather me standing up while my baby was quickly coming. :) hee, hee..... my dad and I were laughing "sorta" as we drove to the hospital some 30 minutes away. I just remember by the time we arrived I could hardly stand up from the contractions. That was at around 12 midnight and well, Justin was born about 5 hours later.

I wasn't blessed to have my husband there with me but I can't imagine anyone else I would want by my side other than my Dad and Mom. I was so blessed to have them there for the 2 out of the 3 births. I am so thankful for those moments and so thankful that we share some of the most special moments in my life together....

Some often ask where we got Justin's name and why does he have 3 names :)

Dwayne was especially close to his brother during this time and he wanted to name his son after his brother, Timothy.
Justin was a name I had chosen for many reasons but the primary reason was for what it stood for: One of Justice. I had loved this name for a long time and I really wanted to call him Justin. Dwayne also wanted the name Carus which was his great grandfather's name. It was an old family name and Dwayne wanted to include it. So, Justin has 3 names...

Timothy Justin Carus Hughes

I remember seeing Justin for the first time and he was so perfect. He was 9lbs 13oz. Just shy of 10 lbs and believe me I felt every pound :) ......

I can't believe it's soon to be 18 years since his arrival in our lives. I wish I could say they have been just amazing but the truth is they've been more than AMAZING- they have been full of JOY, of Humor, of tears, and of LOVE>......

Justin,

You've brought all those things into our lives and we thank the Lord for how He has Blessed us with you. I can't imagine my life without you. You've taught your dad and I so much about LOVE, about Justice, about laughing and so much more......

Someone said to me that they were listening to you at their house and they couldn't believe how you had everyone laughing. If I had to name one thing that I love about you it is your humor and your ability to bring smiles to all those you know! That my son is a GIFT!

We love you and wish you a very happy 18th Birthday!

Love, Mom and Dad...............................
