Happy 21st Birthday Joshua K. Hughes

21 Years ago Joshua was born at around 10:30 pm it was a crazy time in our life but God blessed us. Over the years he has grown to become such a fine young man. I couldn't imagine life without Josh in our life. I can remember when he turned 1 years old and he was already talking quiet abit. Some of his first words were Fan and Beep de horn.. he was a pistol and never met a stranger. He loved being around people and still today is the life of any room he enters. I don't think Josh has ever hated anyone. I've never known him to be mean or ill to people. On the contrary he always had a heart for the underdog. I remember when he was in 2nd grade and his teacher said there was a little boy in Josh's class that Josh seemed to be making friends with. She called to just inform me that the child came from a really rough back ground and that I might need to just watch to make sure Josh didn't "pick" up some bad habits. I appreciated the word of caution and sat down to talk with Josh about his new friend. Josh proceeded to share about this young boy and said that he didn't have any friends and that the teachers aren't really nice to him because he doesn't do his home work. As it turned out his new friend was named Josh too. So I asked Josh to invite his friend over for dinner and they could play outside. One Play date turned these two boys into fast friends. Before long Josh 2 would come over to do homework and to play often. Even the teacher praised Josh for being such a good influence in this young boys life. This was nothing for Josh. Later on he would be confronted with BULLIES in the meanest way and yet, Josh still would befriend them.... he had to learn some hard lessons about allowing people to use you and in the end he was hurt but he learned and grew from it...

Josh has always been our "bickerer" he would argue with the wind if he could... :) It wasn't until he got up in High school that we realized he was just such a person of conviction that it was hard for him to concede on issues he believed were right and true. Even if "his parents " thought otherwise :) .... He has kept us on our toes and caused us to think hard about our decisions.

He has grown not just in Stature but Spiritually as well. We are so proud of the Man you are becoming Josh and hope and pray that this year marks one that you will likely never forget. The year of independence.

We love you and thank the Lord daily for the Joys and Laughter we have shared together as a family. We wouldn't be complete without you!

May you have a Wonderful and Memorable Year this your 21st Birthday!

With all our Love,
Mom, Dad, Justin and Kayla
