It's one of the most exciting times in our family the night before Christmas. Many years ago in hopes of keeping the kids a bit more calm during the holiday season we have not put out presence under the tree until Christmas eve. It's been so much fun over the years to see their excitement grow and to see them get up and get all excited over their gifts.
Well- at 21, 19 and 18 things haven't changed too much. They still get excited, still want to go to bed early - so to allow "santa" to come and then they are up at the crack of dawn. This year- they were toying with the idea that maybe they could sleep until 6am.... :) but Justin had none of that!
So- who was the first one up? Justin !
Every year we get mei mei our dog a gift for her. We can't put it out though until we get up in the morning- She goes out in the middle of the night to explore the presences and tries to find her gift. One year we thought we had put "her gifts" up high enough but then we heard paper and boxes being moved and who was under the tree... ? Mei - trying to get her gifts. :)
Every since our kids were born Dwayne has continued a tradition with our kids that his Father did... We read the Bible story of Jesus' birth. It use to be so cute to watch the kids - now they really enjoy it and were excited to think back to the Greatest Gift ever given.
