Dwayne is safely home and resting. He has been gone a long time and we are so glad to have him back home. Ahhh a Family once again.
As most of you know Dwayne loves hunting. It wouldn't surprise you then to know that even in the midst of jet lag and sick with a very bad chest cold, he found the energy to hunt. He called to just make sure that I didn't have any plans and to let me know of his desire to go out into the woods. Ofcourse I realized early in our dating life that this was one of his great passions and I have really worked hard not to get in the way of that passion, so off he went.
As it was getting dark and I was finishing the last present I was wrapping, I decided I would head to the store for some items before going to pick Dwayne up. I wasn't 100 % sure that he needed me to pick him up so I waited until it was "DARK" out side before calling. I just would feel AWFUL if I were to scare off any chance of him getting a deer. So out the door I go- in the darkness - and as I get in the car I try to call him. No answer- Thought to self, " humm maybe he got a deer or maybe he didn't take his phone." So I call Josh to find out if he was going to pick up his Dad. Justin answers and says, no he has Josh's car. Off I go to the store thinking - that's great, now I can go to the store and have dinner ready when he comes home.
Well, about 45 minutes later- Dwayne comes in and he smiled! I thought YEAH! he got a deer. But instead he said, I had 4 doe in the field and a nice 8 point standing right in my scope. As I go to pull the trigger - guess what happened? I couldn't think of a thing and then I said, the phone rings! :) He says yes! I busted out laughing and said, It was DARK! In my defense:). He said, Not too dark to hunt! OH MAN! Ofcourse he wasn't upset but he sure did remind me of that deer all night long! :)
He's gone to find it and hopes its laying on the ground waiting for him . I am too - I want that Meat!
I love having him home! ;) Ofcourse he has a much funnier version of the story.
