Lifeguard on Duty

Justin has been working as a life guard all summer. It was a last minute decision to stay with us rather than go back to the river and be a white water river guide. Mind you both are very exciting jobs and are people intensive. He took a week long class to be certified as a Lifeguard and began working at the local water park. He is such a hard worker. It has been neat to see him work hard and then receive his pay check. Mind you some are thinking wow that is really neat that Justin is working and is enjoying it. I am talking this boy is working hard! This past pay period he worked a whopping 107 hours! Congrats Justin on doing a great job!

He has already had to save several people. Just this week he's had two very exciting days. One was a young boy about 12 and he was in the wave pool. Justin dove in and saved him as he was drowning. The other was today- a boy about 15 was giving several of the lifeguards trouble by not obeying the rules. Well, on one incident Justin watched this kid continue to disobey repeated call outs to obey the rules- finally, when the lifeguard called him out he obeyed only long enough to watch the lifeguard turn her head and then continued to break the rules and then stuck his tongue out at the lifeguard. Just said, he blew his whistle and pointed at the kid and said, " You come here." It was actually very interesting to me to hear Justin tell this story because usually he's the clown and acting all funny. But this time as he was sharing it was obvious that this kid got him riled up. He reprimanded him and told him if he saw him being disrespectful again or not obeying the rules he'd be out of there! Justin said, the boy came back to apologize.

Great Job son! Your Dad and I are very proud of you!

Keep up the great work and keep working hard!

Love ya~
