Oktoberfest ~ Leavenworth, WA

This weekend wewanted to and explore the area where we live. Since it is fall now and the leaves are all beginning to change we thought we would take advantage of that and head out to explore. We found a small town that is only about 2 hours away from where we live up in the mountains. The name of the town is Leavenworth, WA and it's a small Bavarian town. This month is Oktoberfest and it was fun to enjoy all the festivities. Along the way we were able to see some beautiful scenery as you can see below. On our way home we stopped to take some of these pictures and spotted Salmon in the river. Oh my gosh... they were so huge. We estimated they had to be a good 12-18 maybe 20 lbs. They were monsters. It was fun to watch them in the water. I learned the correct words to are to say when talking about salmon spawning...

Here is Dwayne in the middle of town. It is a really neat place with lots of cool shops and little places to eat what looks like some really good German food. :)

We really enjoyed the Brawts and German sausages... Mmmm good!

Dwayne thought these little guys looked so cute. It was fun to see all kinds of people dressed for the festivities.
We can't wait for Christmas... We made reservations for the family here at Linderhof and we plan a fun filled time of skiing, snowboarding, snow shoeing, sledding, and some other fun times.

We had a fun time going in the halls where there were lots of vendors and food. Man there were some pretty funny people there!
In the halls they had lots of activities going on. This was a band that played and sang. In another hall they had dancers and folk songs.

It was a great day!
