History, do you remember?

"History is rendered meaningless unless it is remembered"

I'm not sure where this quote came from but I heard it on a special report on the Jewish Holocaust. I thought this is one to remember.

April is a month that I will for now on remember and think on those who have suffered because of their faith. I know there are many around the world who have and continue to suffer because of what they believe and because of their ethnic back ground. However, this event the Jewish Holocaust is one that if we don't remember the lives that were taken and the lessons we learned from this time in history we might find ourselves reliving it all over again.

Mr. Elie Wiesel the author of " NIGHT " his story of his personal experience in Auschwitz.
Closing out the book is Mr. Elie Wiesel's acceptance speech for the Nobel Prize. This quote is from this speech where he accepted the Nobel Prize on December 10, 1986.

"Our lives no longer belong to us alone; they belong to all those who need us desperately."

He said it well and may we remember there are many peoples around the world who desire FREEDOM to speak, to believe in what ever they want, to live life without the fear of oppression! May we rally to those in need and stand for what is right even if it means WAR!

Have a great day and REMEMBER the past so that those who have suffered and died would not have done so needlessly!!
