Song Kran is a special holiday in Thailand that celebrates the rainy season arrival. This year it started on April 16th and goes on for a about a week. It is a time where everyone becomes a kid and enjoys playing in the water. It is a very exciting time for everyone. Kids are out of school and businesses close. There is a mote around the old city and that is where all the fun really takes place. Everyone piles into their trucks and fill up huge barrels of water with blocks of ice in them. They then load up with their water guns , buckets and hoses and begin the journey around the mote and proceed to splash anyone and everyone.
This was our first year to really enjoy it. Last year Dwayne was traveling and I was still too new to the city to venture out into the huge crowds. :) But this year we decided to get the kids on the scooters and head out and have some fun. Justin was riding with Dwayne on the back of Big Red armed with a super soaker and Kayla was riding with me on the back of Ole Blue, also armed with a super soaker. We had a lot of fun and laughed so hard. It was a great day and we really enjoyed the time as a family. We missed Josh being with us but he'll be having his fun this summer as he guides people down white water rapids.........
