Transformation

As many already know- we will be making the transformation from Working in a cross cultural ministry to working for the Military. This will all occur in just a few more months. Dwayne is already starting to learn about his new role as Chaplain and even though that new role won't really start until September 15th. It's hard to imagine that we will be back in the military! I would have never even thought it possible. However, that is the way the Lord works in our lives. I once said, " I don't think I could ever be a pastors wife", and it seems that being back for this stateside assignment the Lord had begun to help me see that I could be a pastor's wife. However, that's not the role He had for me. Instead it was to be a Chaplains wife.

Military life is anything but easy and as we begin to transition into this new role I find myself thinking, Lord - I don't know if I'm really cut out for the military again. But He reminds me that in my own strength I couldn't. So- we enter this next phase of ministry with a sense of awe that He's called us to minister to our Armed Service men and women - along with their families.

We will likely change our blog from the " the hughes news" to something more reflective our new ministry. Be looking for that new look come September.

As many already know- we are entering a new phase of life as parents too.

Yeah- I know lots of changes for the hughes family!

Empty nesters...... Oh my gosh! We looked to the future and saw this day coming but all I can say is Friends- it arrives so fast. Enjoy the days as you have those little ones and make lots of memories as my mother in law always reminded me.... because one day very soon, so much sooner than you realize the day will come when you too will be an empty nester!

Well, here's what you all have been looking for!

New Places and New Adventures

After so much time away it feels refreshing to be back at blogging.  Here are just a few picture...
