The Joy of Planting

It is always a joy to get out in the yard and do some work but there is nothing like seeing the fruit of your labor. We have been a bit busy since Dwayne's last project and we were itching to get outside and work some more in the yard. So, after a week of talking and planning we dug in and literally we dug in!

Day one: We started with some plants called "birds of paradise" that we planted along the front of our fence line. There were 20 of them and 3 banana trees and two other great smelling bushes (but they were made into tree bushes). Anyway, we started work at around 11am and didn't finish until after 5pm. I dug alot and Dwayne dug some too. Together though we accomplished the task! Nothing like Team work!

Later that night!

WE WERE IN SOME KIND OF PAIN! I can't tell you all how bad we hurt. Okay your not getting it! We were in P-A- I-N. Dwayne was sore from his back down, there wasn't a thing on me that wasn't sore! Actually, we saw this add for this show on cable and this girl shares about her experience and she says "I think I broke my eyeballs and feet" . That is about the way I felt. Strange comment but I think it captures the moment! :)

Day two: There was no way we could do the work by our selves so we enlisted Justin and Kayla's help. We got up and purchased our flowers to finish off the job and then returned home. Justin dug the holes for the remaining two tree bushes that needed to be planted and Kayla and I dug the flower holes. OUCHIE, my hands were hurting! Kayla being the sensitive daughter that she was kept saying, "Mom you crack me up!" I replied, " well, If I'm cracking you up, becareful of the shovel it will kill you! " Hee, hee.. I was in pain and let me tell you, everyone knew it ! :)

We did finish though and the fruit of our Labor was good!

the animals enjoyed playing around us. Mei enjoyed the fun for all of 5 minutes and then she retreated to the front porch for a nap. Sammie enjoyed the flowers and the new forest in her yard. She played and pounced all the flowers and even tried to get kayla's hands while she was planting.

So, that was our weekend ~

we had a good time and again, there is nothing like a little labor of love to receive something wonderful from it!

Love to you all!
